Professional profile

Enrique has been a Partner at Lloreda Camacho & Co. since 2001. He heads the Competition Law practice group and the Labour and Immigration practice group. He also co-heads the Corporate practice group.

Enrique has more than 20 years of experience in corporate law, competition, foreign investment, labour, M&A, privatizations, joint ventures and regulatory matters. He represented domestic and foreign companies in merger control and abuse of dominance investigations, as well as in complex antitrust and unfair competition litigation. He has also advised clients in a number of antitrust clearance proceedings before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.

Enrique has a law degree from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and a master’s degree in Labour Law from Universidad Bolivariana, in Medellín, Colombia. He also participated in an International Fellowship in Active Labour Policies of the International Labour Organization (ILO-ONU) in Geneva, Switzerland. He has been professor of International Labour Law and Occupational Health of the specialization program in Labour Law of the Universidad Bolivariana, as well as a guest speaker at various seminars.

Before joining the firm, Enrique worked as Legal Vice President of the National Association of Industries – ANDI. In that position he was part of the drafting team of Law 50 of 1990 (labour reform) and of Law 100 of 1993 (universal health care law).

Enrique is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Legal Services of the National Association of Industries – ANDI.

He has been invited as a speaker to various domestic and foreign seminars on competition law and corporate law and he has been recognized by Chambers Latin America as one of Colombia’s Corporate/M&A and Competition Law leading lawyers. He was also awarded the Client’s Choice Award 2014 for competition law matters.

He is co-author of the Colombia chapter of Merger Control 2014, edited by Chambers & Partners Publishing, London, 2014 and co-author of Getting the Deal Through – Mergers and Acquisitions, edited by Law Business Research, London, 2015, and the Colombia Chapter of Public Competition Enforcement Review, edited by Law Business Research, Sixth Edition, 2014. Enrique has also published articles on corporate matters.
