Ignacio has been a Partner at Lloreda Camacho & Co. since 1996. He heads the Mining & Natural Resources, Administrative, and International Trade practice groups.
He has a law degree from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia; two specialization degrees, in Financial Law from Universidad de los Andes and in Administrative Law from the Universidad del Rosario, both in Bogotá; and a post-graduate degree in Antitrust Law from the University of Konstanz in Konstanz, Germany.
Ignacio has more than 20 years of experience in matters related to Mining Law, including mining joint ventures structuring, acquisition of mining companies, establishment of special purpose vehicles, option agreements and purchase agreements of mining titles and related matters; building, construction and operating mining agreements; earth removal agreements, easements, mining due diligence processes, preparation of the required documents from a Colombian legal perspective for listing processes on the TSX, TSXV and ASX, representation of clients before administrative authorities, litigation processes in connection with mining and land restitution, nullity and reinstatement-of-rights actions before administrative courts, and negotiation with communities on all types of agreements, including previous consultation processes and participation agreements, forest reserve extraction processes and environmental permitting in general.

Ignacio is currently a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation (RMMLF) and the Interpacific Bar Association (IPBA). He also has participated in the Annual Meetings of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) since 2006 and the Mines & Money event in London since 2012. Additionally, he has been invited by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation to be a speaker on Mining Law topics and has served as a member of the steering committee of the special sections of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation in Cartagena, Colombia.
