Throughout Resolution 3745 of 2015, new formats began to be used for the medical evaluations given by the experts regarding occupational and work skills loss, according to Decree 1507 of 2014, which refers to the “Single manual for the occupational and work loss”. The mentioned formats apply to all workers in the national territory, without discriminating against workers for their labor relationships, occupation, age, origin and type of disability, or affiliation condition to the Integral Social Security System. The mentioned formats can be downloaded in the Labor Ministry’s WEB page[1].
With the purpose of registering the origin of a contingency, initial date, occupation and working skills loss it will be necessary to fill out any of the four formats established according to the person’s life cycle, taking into account that the formats contain different frames for children, adolescents, adults and older adults, relating their occupation and work. The above mentioned will make the medical opinion given by the respective experts to be more equitable, taking into account that every person will be evaluated according to their characteristics mentioned before.
According to the above, the new formats will be a useful tool that allows physicians to give their medical evaluations in an objective manner, according to the regulations and technical advances defined in the Decree 1507 of 2014. Furthermore, the formats will allow the worker to know in a precise manner, the process carried out for their qualification and the foundations for the final result, which provides transparency and security. The formats will also contain general information regarding the physician’s evaluation, the disability qualification entity’s information, general data of the disabled person and his/her record, medical exam, job description valuation, as well as the medical opinion and the qualification group.
Finally, it must be mentioned that the new formats must be filled out by the workers who are in a process of qualification for the loss of their occupational skills and their ability to work, so that these formats are subsequently sent to the invalidity qualification board, who will issue their opinion in this respect.
