| Description | Through Decree 050 of February 11, 2026, the National Government declared a state of economic, social, and ecological emergency in the departments of Córdoba, Antioquia, La Guajira, Sucre, Bolívar, Cesar, Magdalena, and Chocó. Within this framework, the MME issued Decree 213, adopting exceptional, temporary, proportional, and targeted measures regarding economic obligations arising from the mining regime, with the aim of mitigating the impact, extent, and worsening of the unforeseen effects caused by the cold front on the economic and social conditions of: a) Subsistence miners with a valid registration in the Génesis module. b) Beneficiaries of formalization or legalization mechanisms authorized under the current regulations for mineral exploitation. c) Mining title holders classified as small-scale mining operations. The measures include temporary suspension of the accrual of late-payment interest, partial forgiveness and deferral of the surface canon for small-scale mining, special payment arrangements, among others. |
