Enrique is partner of the firm since 2001 and is the director of the departments of Competition & Consumer Protection, Labor Law, Social Security & Immigration, Data Protection & Privacy, and Exchange Law. In addition, he is the co-head of the Life Science practice.
Before joining Lloreda Camacho & Co. (1996 as sr. associate), Enrique was Vice President of the legal department at the National Business Association of Colombia – ANDI. He has over 30 years of experience in corporate law, competition, foreign investment, labour law, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, joint ventures and regulatory affairs.
Enrique has represented local and foreign companies in investigations of abuse of dominant position, complex dispute litigation involving unfair competition and antitrust before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.
He has been recognized by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading attorneys in Colombia in the areas of Competition/Anti-Trust and Life Sciences, and was awarded the “Client’s Choice Awards 2014” in Competitive Law matters.
Enrique earned a law degree from Universidad de los Andes and hold a post graduate degree in Labor Law from the Universidad Bolivariana. He was awarded an International Scholarship in Active Labor Policies, at the Institute of the International Labor Organization (ILO-UN) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Enrique was member of the first National Counsel of Social Security in Health, which issued the norms that structured the current health system by the Law 100 of 1993. He is also an advisor to the Association of Pharmaceutical Laboratories in Research and Development (AFIDRO) and to several companies in the pharmaceutical sector, mainly in regulatory and competition matters.
Enrique is currently an officer in the International Bar Association (IBA) in the Life Sciences committee.
