Santiago has been a partner at Lloreda Camacho & Co since 1997. He is the Director of the Corporate, Finance & Banking, Capital Markets, and Real State Law Divisions of the firm and codirects the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) division.
He earned a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a graduate degree in Finance Management from the Escuela Superior de Marketing & Administración (ESMA) in Barcelona, Spain.
Santiago has extensive experience in the financial sector, having worked at the Banco Extebandes. He was the Director of the Legal Department at the Regional Bogotá de Conavi, Vice President of the Legal Department and Secretary General of Corfunión, and Secretary General of the Banco Unión Colombiano. Additionally, he worked as an International Associate at the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York, USA. He has been a member of several Boards of Directors, including financial institutions like Corfunión, Leasing Fénix, and Fidunión, Corredores Associados S.A. Comisionista de Bolsa (until their recent acquisition by Davivienda) and Willis Colombia Corredores de Seguros S.A.
Santiago has been member of several board of directors of different financial institutions. In addition, he was member of the Bogotá-Cundinamarca-Boyacá Sectional of ANDI, and was the president of the ANDI Chamber of Legal Services during the period of 2016-2017.
Santiago has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, LACCA, e IFLR1000 as a leader in the Corporate and M&A practice. He obtained the recognition “Deal Maker of the Year, 2015”, awarded by the magazine Finance Monthly. Furthermore, Santiago is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and Lawyers Associated Worldwide (LAW).
