Andres joined Lloreda Camacho & Co. in 2004 and has been a Partner in the firm since 2014. He is the Director of the Government Procurements and co-director of the M&A practice areas.
He has considerable experience in government contracts, M&A, corporate law, and competition law. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for several local and foreign companies for M&A licitations and transactions.
Andrés earned his law degree from the Universidad de los Andes, where he also obtained a graduate degree in Public Works and Administrative Institutions. Finally, he has a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Northwestern University (Chicago, Illinois).
He has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading lawyers in Colombia in corporate law and M&A. Andrés won the Deal Maker of the Year 2015 award by the magazine Finance Monthly (UK).
Before joining the firm, Andrés worked as the Legal Director for the Programa Compartel for the Communications Ministry of Colombia (now called MinTIC). He was the presiding lawyer in the Colombian Constitutional Court in the office of Judge Jaime Araújo Rentería. He is currently a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
He co-authored the Colombian chapter of “Merger Control 2014”, Chambers & Partners Publishing, and the Colombian chapter of “Getting the Deal Through 2018.” He also wrote the following publications: “Challenges of Enforcing Common Law-Based M&A Contracts in Colombia,” published in the International Bar Association – Latin American Regional Forum in September 2013; and “Top Ten Anti-Trust Concerns in M&A Transactions in Colombia,” published in the Association of Corporate Counsel in September 2014.
