Melissa joined the firm in 2026 and is currently a Senior Associate in the Patents practice. She holds a law degree from EAFIT University and a Specialist Degree in Industrial Property, Copyright, and New Technologies from Universidad Externado de Colombia. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property at the same university.
Melissa has 7 years of experience in industrial property, advising national and international companies on the protection, management, and enforcement of innovation assets, with a particular focus on patents, industrial designs, and patent litigation. She has led protection and portfolio management strategies in Colombia, Latin America, and the United States, coordinating actions with foreign associates across Europe and Asia to ensure efficient management aligned with clients’ commercial objectives.
Her experience includes the prosecution of PCT applications, national phase entries, regional portfolio management, and strategic counseling for direct clients, foreign law firms, and in-house counsel.Her main areas of practice include patents, industrial designs, portfolio management, and patent litigation.
